Halftone Wipe
A transition where the layer crumbles into halftone dots and vanishes.
Breaks the layer into a halftone pattern (dots, squares, diamonds, hexagons, triangles, stars, hearts or plus signs); as Completion goes from 0 to 100%, the shapes shrink and disappear. The order they vanish in can be Linear, Radial (from the center), Box (in a square), Clock (clockwise) or Random. Apply it to the layer you want to remove and the layer below shows through; set Fill to Color for a wipe to a solid color.
Parameters
The same order as the Effect Controls panel. Hover (or tap) an item for its description. The sliders move too (the picture doesn’t).

Tips
- To reveal instead, keyframe Completion from 100% to 0%.
- Set Transition Width near 100% for a soft wipe where everything shrinks gently at once.
- Set Shape to Star or Heart and add some Spin for a cute scene change.
